Hello everyone, I would like to share a little of my journey with endometriosis from the time I didn't know it was a disease causing so much pain to me until the time I first heard it from a doctor. I started having pains (terrible back pain , waist pain , fatigue, pain radiating to my legs , terrible cramps) ,all of a sudden in 2019 , i went to several doctors and i was always told i had infections (salphigitis, endometritis) ,all these doctors would put me on different types of antibiotics to the extent of me having recurrent candidiasis because of over use of several strong antibiotics, yet all that was in vein the pain never stopped , imagine i had pains every day andn night , i was told i was lazy at work because i was always sleeping , i became depressed, always crying asking God what the problem could be , but i didn't get the answer for four years . One day in 2023 , I started bleeding it was slight bleeding but it was worrying to me , so I decided to send a message to one of the medical groups asking if any of them knew a good gynaecologist, so some one sent me a number of one doctor around kampala, I went to see him , he scanned me but I received shocking news , he told me I had endometriosis, a disease I had never heard though I am a nurse , he went a head and told me that it doesn't cure but getting pregnant can help cure it , but in the past years I had not got any positive HCG strip 😭, so he put me on Zoladex for three months but I only had it for two months. After one month, I again posted in the group asking if anyone knows about endometriosis or any support groups. And that's how I met Grace " Endometriosis Foundation Uganda", she was so kind , talked to me nicely, she talked about the diet which really helped me a lot ,the pain subsided, so i ended up not going for third short of Zoladex , after two months I realized I was pregnant 🥰, my pains subsided but I still had back pains even after delivering. The pain was bearable, the pains came back when the baby was 1 year and 6 months, but I try to prevent so much pain by eating the right food . After being diagnosed I felt better and thanked God that at least I know what am suffering from and am not alone in this journey, there are so many women out side there who do not even know that they have this disease.
